In another update on my ring (which is really close to finally being done!) this is after I have filed and polished for many hours in an attempt to clean off firescale. Then when it was all shiny and pretty I soaked it in liver of sulphur for a while in order to blacken the lower portions of the ring and bring out the design. The next and final step will be to carefully clean the raised areas of the ring before giving a final polish.
